A Family Adventure in Tampa, Florida
Our family recently set off on a sunny road trip from Evans, Georgia, to the beautiful shores of Tampa, Florida. The official headline? Laughter, excitement, and good ol’ family bonding.
But if we’re being real? That bonding looked a lot like iPhones, iPads, and a peaceful silence from the back seat — which meant everyone else got some much-needed rest. And me? I wasn’t complaining one bit. I finally got to catch up on a few of my favorite podcasts (shoutout to noise-canceling headphones and a smooth highway).
It wasn’t just the destination that brought us joy — the road trip itself gave us a moment to slow down, unplug (well, sort of), and just enjoy the rhythm of travel together. Upon our arrival in Tampa, we settled into a cozy Airbnb that exceeded our expectations. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, ensuring that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable for everyone. The warm hospitality set the perfect tone for our adventure.
One of the best parts of our trip was visiting the Tampa Zoo. They had all kinds of animals, but the birds really stood out for us. The colors, the sounds — it was like walking through a living rainbow. Even Elijah was locked in, pointing and squealing every time one fluttered by.
Speaking of Elijah… let’s talk about the water play area. Our little guy, now 3 years old, wasted no time getting completely soaked. Shoes, shirt — all of it. Luckily, we’ve learned by now to travel smart, so we had a change of clothes on deck. He had the time of his life, and watching him light up like that made it all worth it.
After Tampa, we made our way over to Clearwater — and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. One of the highlights was hopping on a scenic boat ride with the Tropics Boat Tour. Cruising through the water, we got to check out some seriously stunning houses along the shore. Each one had its own vibe, and for a minute, we were all daydreaming about that coastal life.
Clearwater kept showing off with beautiful views everywhere we turned. We stopped by a few lookout spots and, of course, hit up Pier 60. Between the beach vibes, the live energy, and the shops nearby, it was the perfect mix of chill and “let’s just see what they’ve got in here.” Definitely one of those places where the camera stayed out the entire time — you couldn’t ask for a better backdrop for some family pics.
All in all, our trip from Evans, Georgia to Tampa (with a sweet stop in Clearwater) was one for the books. It was full of laughs, new sights, and those little moments you don’t realize you’ll treasure until later. We soaked it all in — the fun, the chaos, the calm — and made some memories we’ll be talking about for a long time. Can’t wait to see where the next adventure takes us.
